CidermEQ with DioxiCare®, the ACTIVE Chlorine Dioxide System, Provides First Aid for Equine and Large Animals. Treats Thrush, Wounds, Odors, White Line Disease, Fungal Infections
CidermEQ liquid and gels are revolutionary equine care products containing active chlorine dioxide. EQ quickly treats diseases of the hoof, especially thrush, both severe and mild cases. Because EQ is non-toxic and non-irritating many other topical applications are possible.
Chlorine Dioxide Makes CidermEQ an outstanding wound medication
Chlorine dioxide is a gas and a small molecule that easily penetrates both tissue and bacteria. Ciderm liquids and gels are probably the fastest known disinfectants, killing all common pathogens within one minute, in vitro. Microorganisms evaluated include bacteria, viruses, yeast, amoeba, cysts and fungal spores. In addition to speed and broad-spectrum activity, chlorine dioxide is anti-inflammatory by way of oxidizing free radicals and cytokines, irritants the body releases in response to a wound or infection. Deactivation of these molecules reduces scarring, pain and irritation. The combination of special properties make CidermEQ an outstanding wound medication.
A Two Part System
DioxiCare is a 2-part system, and the Gel is automatically activated and dispensed in one operation. Because chlorine dioxide is "unstable", meaning it slowly dissipates with time, the two components are mixed just prior to use. Upon mixture, activated Gel is immediately generated and applied. Convenient two-part packaging speeds the delivery and mixing process. In Liquid form, Ciderm can be applied topically as a soak, spray or wipe.
EQ Deodorizes and Disinfects Animal Fur
Along with their disinfecting ability, Ciderm Liquid and Gel are excellent deodorizers. Odors such as methyl mercaptan, hydrogen sulfide, phenol and body odors are neutralized by means of chemical oxidation rather than masking. ClO2 is now utilized in many municipal water treatment plants in place of chlorine since it is better at neutralizing unpleasant tastes and odors and leaves no harmful residue. Accordingly, useful veterinary applications for Ciderm Liquid and Gel include the deodorizing and disinfecting of animal fur, bedding and living quarters, as well as the control of mouth odors.
For diseases of the hoof, Ciderm EQ is packaged in a 30ml twin syringe that mixes and dispenses the two parts of the disinfectant gel in "one operation". A small plastic mixing tip permits dispensing into narrow openings in the hoof. Only a few applications are usually necessary for complete treatment of hoof diseases.
